Buy used. My lathe fully tooled cost about what you might spend for a nice rifle with optic. My mini-mill cost a lot less.

But you're not going to buy one in brass
I really like the DIY part, I can't do woodworking but metal is fine for me. I tend to mess up wood projects being a softer material.

My mother's boyfriend had a pretty nicely set up shop, he passed away this year and his daughter now has the property so I no longer have access to it. I got to use his lathe and mill on a regular basis. Now the best I can do is a drill press lol.
Fill me in on this mini mill?

This is the mill I have.

They pop up used from time to time. If you have the space, I've seen full size Bridgeport type mills sell for about $500.
