As I have recently become a new firearm owner ( April) and was wondering if anyone has any experience with Raptor charging handles. I'm running a Ny compliant Sig Sauer M400 and after a thousand rounds I can see the advantages of an ambi charging handle, yet don't know anyone who owns one to ask the pluses and minuses. The stock charging handle something I'm thinking of changing, as its insufficient IMO. Anyone with any knowledge care to share?

If you dont mind my asking, why do you find it insufficient?
I have a Raptor and other ambi charging handles, I like them but I don't have much experience with standard handles so not much of a benchmark on my side.

The fact that, being right handed, the charging handle trigger is on the left. If in an emergency, I would prefer to sandwich the charging handle with my left hand ( RH on the grip) between my first and second fingers. The Raptor being ambi seems it would potentially work better. Additionally, the stock handle release has a small thin area that is the release ( think this sheet metal) that can be uncomfortable after repeated use.
Is the purchase (grip) area larger than the stock ones? Are they more comfortable after repeated use?

Another radian raptor LT guy here. I agree pricey but worth it. I prefer the ambi latch and the grip is definitely more aggressive.

Welcome here. I'm a lefty, so any charging handle this is "ambi" but doesn't stick out "too far" works for me. No idea of the brand I use unfortunately.

I have a raptor as well. I love it. There are a lot of knock offs out there and you can tell the build difference. There are other options for ambi handles though. You can simply buy an ambi latch for your existing charging handle and install that. It's very simple and will be a fraction of the cost of a raptor. That said, if you really like the raptor and want it and are just looking for encouragement to buy it, by all means, buy that thing!

Aa far as thickness goes, they are the same. The Radian is a little more than 1/2" wider than a mil-spec handle.
