Finally! A pro-gun article on CNN! Well, not quite but I'll take what I can get...
PyroLance: The water gun that cuts through concrete

LolNow that I think of it, there should be a battle between this and Elon Musk's new flamethrower!

what kind of application did you have for a ten inch thick piece of aluminum???I spent a lot of years running and programming water jets, still amazed by the capabilities that they have. Concrete is tough, but ten inch thick titanium was tougher. And a lot slower!
titanium i mean, sorry.what kind of application did you have for a ten inch thick piece of aluminum???
Those machines are awesome. Not usually used for something that thick though.I spent a lot of years running and programming water jets, still amazed by the capabilities that they have. Concrete is tough, but ten inch thick titanium was tougher. And a lot slower!
But can it cut throught the morning hard on?
No they're not, that was a one time run. A 3 x 8 foot plate of titanium had to be expensive, they wanted the drops returned, probably saving the taxpayers a little! Those machines are awesome. Not usually used for something that thick though.
Oh I know, I ran one at school while learning the machining trade. No they're not, that was a one time run. A 3 x 8 foot plate of titanium had to be expensive, they wanted the drops returned, probably saving the taxpayers a little!
Normal thickness of material ran for 1/8 of an inch to 2 or 3 inches. The thinner it is the faster you can cut. The technology behind the water jet was as old as erosion and as new as you could imagine.
