Cuomo is vulnerable and unpopular. An honest to God Republican contender has finally stepped up to the plate, John DeFransisco. I'll be watching closely to see how this one plays out. If Cuomo loses this election, he's toast on the national stage.

It was great last election. AstoRINO was leading, leading, leading, leading...then they added in like, one NYC county and it was a landslide in the opposite direction.

I def understand that. DeFransisco is someone that can carry the ball, it will be a much closer election than the last one, which Cuomo carried just over 50% of the vote. If I was DeFrancisco, I'd be on the phone with KellyAnne Conway right now.

DeFransisco has Central New York...and beyond...name recognition, and a good reputation. He can carry Dem counties like Onondaga and Monroe. Think he'll exceed expectations...IF he plays his cards right.

Yup I'm not thinking so and I'm usually the optimistic one but it was that terrible. It was so bad he could even excite his close family and friends at the event. I was terribly let down.

Agreed. PRO-active rather than RE-active. DeFrancisco has gotta want it. Cuomo plays hardball, and fancies himself as the Next Big Thing for the Democrats.

This 1000 times.
Elections are won by numbers not landmass. NYC alone is 45% of NYS population. Most of those votes if not all will go to cuomo. Then you have Buffalo, Albany, and Syracuse and were done.

Only thing we have going for us is cuomo a business failures and the subway in nyc sucks. I know a lot of liberals aren’t happy with cuomo, but I do t see it happening. In the end the liberals will stick together. Only chance we have is another strong liberal runs as an independent and splits the vote. I doubt they will let that happen.

I live in Buffalo and I’ve never heard of this guy. I have no clue who he is and I’ll bet no one else in my area does.

It's all just numbers. Too many of them both dead and living and too few of us.

Every single year more right leaning/Republican types leave this state and they are replaced by a left leaning free loader who will vote for the party that gives them things for free.

If he even seems like he's bringing a strong challenge the liberals will mobilize and bus people to the polls from out of state, the morgue, cities, universities, people looking for free things etc..


I want to be optimistic, I'm optimistic by nature but I'm realistic.




I don't think there will ever be another Republican governor in this forsaken state.
