I was happy with what I got, like I might of mentioned had it for a while, got it brand new and never shot it. At this point in life the cash is good and it’s hopefully going to be enjoyed as it should. Win-win
Yeah my dad had quite a few guns which were never fired. One was the Colt Sporter HBAR match I bought for him in 1993. I got it back, not sure it will remain unfired though.
That has a way different story than mine, I would definitely NOT part with that one. I would definitely turn it into a shooter! Either way you got a win-win as well.
That’s where I’m at as well, have too many hunting rifle as I don’t really hunt anymore but still have the guided hunt dream. When I was an avid hunter I would enjoy using several different rifles but at this point I could just have one or two rifles for my hunting needs. I started deer hunting with a savage 110 in 30.06 and probably would never part with that. Besides it probably not worth much but would be capable of being the all purpose hunting rifle.
A friend of mine in his late 70s couldnt shoot full power rifles any longer and really missed it. I let him try out my Ruger American in 300 blackout and he really enjoyed shooting it at 100 and 200 yards. I would bring it to the range with me so he could shoot it, just in case he showed up to the range to shoot his revolver.
It definitely sucks getting old but I have learned to appreciate others enjoying activities I once enjoyed. It’s even better when you pay to get some things done like gutter cleaning because you aged out of it and can pay for it now instead of chasing/saving the mighty dollar. Silver linings not silver alerts at this point, LOL
