I have a somewhat older Magpul video (The Art of the Precision Rifle) featuring Todd Hodnett of Accuracy 1st. In the video he presented the idea that instead of buying dedicated budget glass for every rifle you have, an option is to buy a top of the line scope with a robust QD mount (Bobro, AD-Recon, LaRue), that can be used on multiple rifles. He demonstrated how you can quickly dope it to each rifle you intend to use it on, and how you can true it with a "one shot" dial in.
The advantage proposed is that you can leverage your glass money, as you can put a smaller fortune into the really good glass, rather than spreading a larger fortune buying dedicated somewhat less good glass for every rifle.
It sounds like an interesting theory, but I'd like a practical take on it. Has anyone here utilized this practice?
