Throwing in the towel (as an FFL)

Sad to see you close up shop @CaliberPlus but it's good that you have the moral fortitude not to contribute to the NYS illegal/bullshit activities. My FFL in Syracuse says he'll probably throw in the towel soon too. He said he might continue on for a few of his current clients, but if so it will be scaled back, very limited. It's blatantly obvious what the NYS end goal is, less guns/ammo and more control. over the serfs. Best of luck with whatever you decide to do next!

I don't know how well refusing to sell guns, ammo, etc. NYS LEOs would go over. Seems similar to bakery owners legal problems when he refused to do a wedding cake for a gay couples marriage. I know, guns and cakes have nothing in common LOL. But would the gun shop owner face charges of discrimination like the cake maker did? I think the cake maker won out in the end, but at a big cost.

I think most will fold on Dec 31st. Then the very few left will get hammered with BS fines til they say fk it. I no long do transfers as of Sept 13th.

Someone should start a lawsuit over it when that happens.

You know if a free state passed some law that caused 90% of the abortion clinics in the state to close that the ACLU would have a dozen lawsuits filed before the ink was dry on the bill.

At some point, many of us are going to ask what the benefit of being a slave to tyrants really is.

Many already are asking that.
Yet our self-proclaimed "lords and masters" have blindly overlooked every warning sign of what tends to happen next. History has shown, repeatedly, what the eventual result of tyrannical behavior is, and it is NEVER pretty. Especially for the tyrants.

LE is an extremely small part of our business. The guys that do come here are ones that you might want on your side if tshtf.

To limit what we sell to just reloading and parts would not cut it. There are expenses to a business and that would not pay the bills.

Since this has been somewhat incremental, let me illustrate. Last Sept. semi auto rifles became verbotten for anyone without a handgun permit. That was a huge hit to the bottom line. When logging info on ammo became mandatory, that was another hit. We were telling people to go elsewhere, like out of state.
Now, with the BGC, another hit. For hunting season, it has been pathetic.

That said, I have planned to be able to weather bad times. We could stay open if there was any hope this crap was going away. I personally have lost that hope. I have lost some hope in people in general, the state of oblivion so many are in can be a bit frustrating. Just spoke to another one this AM. Totally. completely. oblivious.

The three pages of "regulations" that are included in the inspection from NYS is just the last straw.

This is just another push to edge us to move. Got two years to look.

I agree there is no hope but hey all we need is people to vote and it will all be fine. Sarcasm abounds that statement. There is no hope. Leave or find a new line of work.
