Tisa 1911 experience ?

A friend of mine just purchased a Tisa 1911, .45ACP, made in Turkey, he hasn't got it yet, $400.00. Just wondering if anyone here has any experience with this brand of 1911. I looked on youtube and couldn't find any bad review's, even Hickok was surprised at the quality of it, especially at such a low price.

I don't have one, but I've played with many.

I would have no problem buying one if I saw one I liked and had money burning a hole in my pocket at the same time.

I've got several Rock Island pistols. They are also a very good value.

I think they are very good. I have 2. My buddy has 5. All forged no min parts.

I did one up for pistol challenge to abuse the $5k-$8k crowd.

About 9hrs finessing all orig parts. Just as smooth as any of the so called big dogs.

I have been selling the Tisas 1911's for a few years now and zero issues. Triggers are very nice right out of the box and fitment is very good. Grab one, you will not be disappointed.

I’ve owned 3 of them. A B45R duty in 45acp, a nightstalker in 9mm, and a Raider in 45acp. Sold the B45R to purchase other handguns and ended up missing having a Tisas so much that I bought the nightstalker and the raider.

they are very well made guns, I have had no issues out of any of them and never had a malfunction yet. About a year ago Tisas stopped doing MIM parts and now everything is forged. The frames, slides and barrels have always been forged. They are parts interchangeable with series 70’s colt 1911 and accept most all series 70’s parts. Tisas are a great entry level 1911 and I would put them on par with some mid grade 1911’s. Part of why they are inexpensive is due to the current exchange rate with Turkey I believe. Where Tisas 1911’s do falter is with the safety plunger spring and the extractor. Both if need be can be easily remedied with Wilson combat parts. If you want a good base gun to build out with higher end parts, or you simply want an inexpensive 1911 that just works, then I recommend Tisas.

Those are nice looking. I like the bottom one and I would swap the trigger for looks and that’s about it. Nice looking guns especially for the price.

I bought one of the USGI 1911 copies, and also one in 9mm: the only thing I could find fault with were the cheap-ass plastic grips, but most folks change those out for something more personal anyways.
I cycled dummy rounds through them without issue...two years later and I still haven't shot them....no excuse, just never made it to the Range with them.

The Gun Snob in me doesn't want to believe a Turkish version of the venerable 1911 could ever be as good as an American made original, but honestly I have to admit they're pretty damn good, and a really good price!
On a tangent: the same can be said of the "Bul Armory" made 1911's

I think I got it about a year ago for around $350 when it went on sale

I just couldn’t justify at the time paying $800+ for a nice colt or whatever

My friend finally got his Tisa 1911 and we gave it a go. Shot factory and my hand loads equally as well. What a coup, the gun is tight and very, very well crafted, and for $400!!!! Iv'e see a ton of 1911 off the shelf pistol's over the years and this one is right up there with the best and without naming names, better than most, costing twice as much and more.
