I didn't primary for Trump. Hell, in 2008 I didn't give a shit about guns or politics so you're point is mute IMHO. Yes the media would rip them apart no matter what but the issue I have is that the Republican party nominated the only candidate in the race that could guarantee a voter turnout for the dems. Hell we could have gone with any of the others and I would be willing to bet most of the sanders supporters would have gone green party instead of vote for Clinton.
