Well today is the day... let's hope for any victory but more importantly a big victory
It was actually on the ticker tape at the bottom of the national news today. I was surprised. Time will tell.
I read something about NYC having preemptively stopped this law to try and sink the case. So part of the arguments are whether it's still even valid or not as a matter to adjudicate.
The Supreme Court is about to hear its biggest gun-control case in a decade
The Supreme Court is set to hear its first major Second Amendment case in nearly a decade on Monday. A decision is expected in the midst of the 2020 election.www.cnbc.com
Is this going to be how things go? Legislators put shit laws on the books, then years later when it finally gets up to scotus they just quickly reverse them so that scotus doesn't smack down?
New York City limits on transporting guns eased in effort to get Supreme Court challenge dismissed
New York City amended restrictions on transporting guns outside the home, a move that may prompt the Supreme Court to dismiss a gun rights challenge.www.usatoday.com

What makes you say that?Well going to take a guess and say this case will turn out to be absolutely nothing.
What makes you say that?
Because history repeats itself?
Roberts the selloutWhat makes you say that?
Because history repeats itself?
This maybe why the SC took this up to squash shit like this going forward. You would hope that the court is smarter than that. All it would take is for the court to let it die then the legislators put the laws right back on the books. You'd really hope that the court would see through the games and rule on it regardless of if it's still on the books at the time of the hearing since it WAS when the suits were filed.
Business as usual. Bought politicians pretending to be impartial judges in black robes doing bought politician things.Based on the article I just read that the 2a lawyer only got to argue for 20 min while the rest of the time it was the justices asking questions on why even hear the case
This is crazy. So legislators can make a totally asinine law that cannot possibly pass constitutional muster, then stymie people for years with it, and when it finally gets on the docket they can just say "Sorry, just kidding!", pull it, and SCOTUS says okay nothing to see her.Supreme Court shows little appetite for expanding gun rights in arguments over repealed New York regulation
It was the first significant gun-rights case the Supreme Court had heard in nearly a decade.www.cnbc.com
