Buying 9mm by a non-pistol permit holder to an inter city address in a bad neighborhood that also is the address of one or more felons, that will get you noticed.
If they invented new ways in their system to deny that they did not tell anyone about, they made a big mistake. Such as not paying child support? Overdue library books? Unpaid parking tickets? They should of had a full website of everything they are doing and not the secret police.

While they can buy them from legit sources, they usually get it from the same source they got the gun from — illegally . It doesn’t affect them at all.
Meanwhile , why this system ? They could just show a permit and it’s known the person passed the background already .
This might be a good thing. As more and more FUDDS get denied, they will get pissed off and stop voting for these people .

They're charging a fee AND you have to pass a background check to purchase a legal product even if you haven't been charged with a crime. Yet there's no background check for anyone convicted of DWI when they want to buy alcohol.
Meanwhile we have this wonderful bail reform where you break into someone's house and stab them in the neck with a scalpel and you're released on your own recognizance. This state is beyond fucked. Punish the innocent while rewarding the criminals

I'm going to try to buy some ammo in NY next week, with my TN CCP being the only ID I'm willing to provide. A denial or delay will probably trigger a lawsuit.

If anything, I think they'll double down and try to make it worse because NYS.gov doesn't seem to acknowledge their failures and reverse course. Santa Claus himself could appear in front of Hochul to explain how wrong she is on guns, all while taking a massive candy cain shit on her desk as physical proof of his being there and it would change nothing.

I'm going to buy a new handgun in TN the day before, just to reinforce how stupid the new system is, *should* I get delayed/denied.
Maybe the NYSP will uncover the form 4 I currently have being processed, along with my suspended non-existent NY DL.
Plenty of 'red flags' there to get me denied.

The way the background check works, if one holds a valid DL that is the id that needs to be used. Works well for the guys in the service that have a CAC Card and Orders. (sarc) They may have lived in NY for years but still have an out of state license. The NICS process has been to accept a gov issued photo id. NY seems to have changed that, too.
