Got the below e-mail, and it does not shock me in the least.
I also found out that this latest tom king disgrace was one reason the Long Range Rifle director resigned from the NYSRPA Board after he told King in his resignation letter: "This is a volunteer organization, and the Board represents the Members. Tom, as a paid staff, you are supposed to answer to the Board, not the other way around." He apparently was fed up with King's ripping off members and acting like he was a king!
Remember when we leaned last year about how corrupt tom king at NYSRPA is? Read this link if you need a refresher.
6 Things NYSRPA DOES NOT want you to know????
Well, there is another insider deal that benefits a pal of his on the NYSRPA board of directors and takes money from the member's treasury.
King wants to give a multi year, $275 an hour employment agreement to a lawyer who is on the board. If NYSRPA has to cancel the agreement early it has to pay this director about $42,000 for prior work she did for NYSRPA AS A VOLUNTEER.
You read that correctly. Pay this director $42K for volunteer work done in prior years! Only an idiot like tom king would agree to that, but them again, with his board that rubber stamps his decisions, it just may have happened.
King refuses to disclose this contract citing "confidentiality". Why should members not know how their dues and donations are spent and who on the board benefits from those funds? If this contract benefits members, then why keep it a secret? NYSRPA is not at all transparent about how it governs itself and member funds and this is another example.
Of course this director was one of only 3 people who set king's outrageous $90,000 salary and she is also the one who refused to disclose this salary to the Board of Director prior to its vote to approve it. Those clowns voted for it thinking her refusal was legal and proper, when it fact it was ILLEGAL and IMPROPER. Why? Because NYSRPA is a registered charity and its financials are a matter of public record.
You can see them and king's $90,000 salary at this link. There was no reason for the amount to be witheld by this director, unless it was to protect tom king or hide a very bad decision on the amount he was offered.

Looks to many people like a quid pro quo. She supports king, and he pays her back with a lucrative contract of her own. That's the tom king Albany politics way. More like the Clinton Foundation way from what I have read. Ask for donations to support the Second Amendment then take the money for yourself and deliver little or nothing to the members but empty rhetoric in Bullet magazine.
In other bad news for NYSRPA members, thanks to king's $90,000 + salary and members dropping out after feeling screwed by him, NYSRPA lost $55,000 last year.
