Bought a close out 14.5" 223 Wylde barrel from bca for $43. Rather than use it on my ar pistol, I bought a yhm 5c2 flash hider and blind pinned it on the barrel for a total of 16". Pretty easy project, I'm happy the way it turned out.
Took a welder to my barrel!

On a different note: How would you get the off if you wanted to? I’ve got a compensator on a 14.5 inch barrel that I’d like to change to something less sonically abusive but don’t know if I can get if off or not. Is it possible?
You should be able to use a cut off wheel or something on the pin area. I would think that once the weld is cut off, the pin should come out. The harder way would be to just cut the muzzle device off taking care not to mess up the threads.

Either grind the weld and maybe the pin or chuck it up in a lathe and turn it off, I'm finding more and more uses for my lathe everyday!

You can use a file to take off the weld. It will just take a bit longer.
