"On February 9, 2023, State Police arrested Terry L. McKeever, age 68 from Philadelphia, NY for Menacing 2nd degree, a class “A” misdemeanor, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th degree, a class “A” misdemeanor."
"McKeever possesses a valid pistol permit, and his gun was voluntarily surrendered to State Police"
What do you think the Criminal Possession of a Weapon was for? If he had a permit for it is this a violation under CCIA?

That just means he had someting that could be used as a weapon and had the intent on using it unlawfully. It could be a gun, knife, brick, whatever, but since they refer to a pistol we know what he had.
Theresa is a small, rural Village and the Town itself isn't all that large either, certainly not an economic powerhouse. Reading the report is sounds like the old guy got into a pissing contest with whomever it was he was trying to serve with a Code Violation and thing escalated...I didn't see it in the local news.
LOTS of people up here carry concealed; very seldom is there ever an issue.
Found it: Theresa zoning officer accused of pointing gun at neighbor while on the job
Speculating here; there's been trouble between the neighbors before, could be the neighbor got in the old guys face, and the old guy pulled on him... we'll find out in a few weeks.

Great, how do I get permits now!?
The few dealings I have had with him he was ok. I had work done at camp and the contractor was supposed to pull permits and never did; got a letter and fine, but after talking with him the fine was dropped, just pay the building fee. "Yes, he (the contractor) pulls this all the time, you can try to get the permit fee back from him."
Country folks doing what they do.

I remember a long time ago, we had a zoning officer that would keep a golf club in his truck for "problems".
It would've been his words against yours because he also owns a golf course in the event he needed to "use it" for threatening purposes.
When your entire family generation has worked for the town offices in some way or another, there is corruption. No one will touch it with a 10 foot pole unless they have some kind of reparation that would benefit them. So good luck with that.
**For the record, I never heard of him using it on anyone, however, that is the rumor mill.
