Transfer Pistol Out of State

I know nobody here is a lawyer, at least that anyone would admit to.

My daughter has always wanted my Colt Officer's Model 45. She now lives in PA. Can I take it to an FFL in PA and do the transfer? I'm thinking it would make a nice house warming gift.

As long as an interstate transfer goes through an FFL, its kosher.

And since she lives in America now, you could loan it to her or leave it at her house for your later use without bothering with the FFL. You wouldn't be able to take it off your permit though.

I don’t see why not, I traded in a Glock at a PA gun shop, had no issues getting it off my permit with the PA FFL receipt.

Or just give it to your daughter and leave it on your permit just in case you ever have to bring it back into NY.
