Trappers, when are raccoon and fox fur in their prime?

I'm looking to do a little trapping in the Finger Lakes region. And, I do mean a little. I only plan to put out a half dozen traps. When have you noticed the fur going into prime? I really only want to take a couple animals, so I want the fur to be at it's most prime.

Wait till end of November. I started laying sets saturday. I caught 3 coon and 1 red fox so far, coon are all ok, red was still blue.

what is prime in NY .. and where to take furs ? years ago here in town we had a place to drop off pelt to to make some $$$ .. like back in the 80's .. nothing close here now that i know of with out a drive for hours .. @whauburger any listings on what pelts are worth ? where to take and when ? .. locations ? i think is what @NirvanaFan is look for ..

Here is a good estimate. Not sure where you are located, I drop my fur with Nafa when they do a run. No way to tell what fur will bring, it goes to auction so depending on a lot of variables it could be $ or a bust.
