if you have a smart phone, get a CCW app about the laws. some are updated all the time.

In NJ a lock box is not enough, you must unload and and lock the gun and ammo in separate boxes!
NJ also has some issue with hollow points, so look into that!

Just dont CCW in PA without a permit, all else is just about fine.
Never leave your guns in a car!

Nj law does not say locked.

They need to be in a container. The trunk satifies their definition.

You CAN have hollowpoints in nj.

If you commit ANY crime while in possession of hp then they add the hp charges. If you dont break the law, then they are 100% legal!

And the reciprocal is that no other state (AG) will honor NY, even when NY's vetting process is one of toughest in the nation.

Not true. There are 15(?) plus states that recognize ny ccw.

With my NH permit I can now carry from the PA border to Indiana. This was my goal since the roads are so isolated at night. Out of state plates just seems to be a target if you break down in rural American. My last trip I had a guy in a pickup truck, hauling a trailer, pass me on the shoulder in a one lane construction zone. Speed limit reduced to 65 and I was doing 70. Guess he wanted to do 80 for the 3/10ths of a mile till he got behind an 18 wheeler doing 60.

This made me realize how vulnerable I would be if he hit me and we had to stop together. Oh yeah, he gave me the finger as he passed too.

After the construction zone ended I stayed back from him and watched him ride the bumper of another car. My wife called 911 on him and the operator said they would pass it up the line but about 5-7 miles ahead there was a cop car on the side so we thought they would do their job. Nope they ignored him. We even told 911 that we had a partial plate, and pictures of his passing on the shoulder and then tailgating.

Now I just need to find a comfortable holster for my fat self for when driving.

LOL.....You are pretty cowardly and weak if that all it takes for you to rat somebody out for literally doing nothing (getting flipped off is not a crime despite what your ego may say). At the speed he passed me, just clipping me would have been a major crash with my wife and kid in the car. You must be an asshole driver that crosses double lines, uses the shoulder as a free lane and doesn't give a shit about others if you think his driving was acceptable. Let me know when you want to meet on the road and go one on one, your driving against mine. I drove an ambulance in Broome county for years and for EMS in NYC for over 10 years. So aggressive driving is second nature to me, stupid driving isn't.

I was not there so I don't know if his driving was "acceptable" or not. What I do is that based on what you described, it was no need to get law enforcement involved. How would you like if somebody else's subjective negative opinion on your driving earned you a ticket?

Not to mention, if he hit you while him doing 80 and you doing 65 I don't think a little scrap out in the middle of no where is going to be your biggest worry

You can possess them while traveling to or from a range or home from a store that sells them. They are legal to posses in your home. If you are traveling through NJ keep them locked in a can separate from your unloaded firearm and you are OK. Just don't spend the night here because then FOPA won't apply.

Yawn. You can posses hollowpoints in nj. No problem. IF you break any law....THEN the hp become illegal.
