DONE Treadle Singer Sewing Machine Head

Old Singer sewing machine. Not the table or treadle part, just the sewing machine. Dates to 1900 by the serial number. Might look good mounted to a board and stuck on a shelf. Free for the taking. If no one lays claims to it soon off to the scrap pile it will go.

It would take a little work to clean it up but it is colorful. I was told it was operational when I acquired it.

Located in southern Albany County.

@cgrutt, according to the serial number look up I did this machine was made in 1900... I can sew on a machine but never used this one so not sure it works or not. I was told it did work when I got it.

This machine has no source of power. There is no treadle base. I have seen these machine heads refit with an electric motor but you might be further ahead just buying a used machine.

My wife has a much more modern Singer she may be interested in selling. It has a table with a folding lid and chair. I could check with her and see what she says. She made some shirts with it for me a long time ago... Let me know.

In any case you can have the one in the picture for free...

I have my Grandmothers Singer in a nice enclosed cabinet. My wife says time for that one to go too but I said nope... I remember sewing on that machine 60 years ago...

Ok, so here's the deal... I will put the sewing machine head in a plastic garbage bag in the garage. At the end of THIS month it goes to the big scrap pile in the sky...

Too bad you're so far away, I've got the treadle and stand for that machine. I also had the wood top, but after hanging onto it for 25 years I just tossed LAST WEEK! Figures.
If Cgrutt gets the machine and wants the stand let me know.

We had a great time and wish we could've stayed longer, as it was by the time we got home Sandy dog was dancing on her hind legs with her legs crossed at the back door! Thanks again Mr. and MRS. Tony we hope to meet again!
