'TREMENDOUS' SUPPORT: City resident's huge Trump sign drawing plenty of attention
GENEVA — You won’t have to ask Daryl Soscia who he’s supporting in the presidential election.
The sign out front of his home at 20 Copeland Ave. says it all: “TRUMP FOR PRESIDENT. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN.”
But it’s not the words that make his sign stand out on this street full of well-kept homes and manicured lawns.
It’s the size.
It’s really, really big.
Soscia, a motor equipment operator with the city’s Department of Public Works, had it built by a professional sign-maker. And after it got knocked over by what he assumes were a couple of youthful miscreants — or maybe some not-so-friendly Hillary Clinton supporters — he anchored it to the earth with pins used for concrete. It’s not going anywhere now.
You can also see it at night. Soscia has two floodlights placed on each side of the sign, with flags attached on each end. The lights go off when Soscia goes to bed about 10:30 p.m.
