I can't stress enough how ashamed I am of the USA right now.
The Taliban has more territory now than it did on 911.
Prior to 911 the north was a holdout. It looks like in the last day or two the Taliban has successfully breached its mountain range and gained even more territory, in part using weapons that we put there over the past twenty years. American, Afghani, and allied lives lost. And $2.3 Trillion apparently on afghanistan.
Al Queda's ass was kicked early on, but then they stayed to nation build. And when that got boring Bush lied (yes, he did lie) and brought us into Iraq, therefore responsible for thousands of more deaths and a couple trillion more lost. I still believe that bush, cheney, powell, rumsfeld should have been brought up on charges for what they did pushing the iraq war narrative. They were painting an inaccurate picture.
We do not ever, and will not now hold politicians responsible for these negligent actions. Losing office is not enough. Negligence has to have repercussions, surely?

The would-be passengers have yet to board the planes in the city of Mazar-i-Sharif, which were chartered by Mercury One, a charity founded by Christian conservative media personality Glenn Beck.
Three other evacuation flights—two on a plane chartered by international development organization Sayara, and one by Goldbelt, Inc., an Alaska Native corporation—were also grounded by the Taliban awaiting clearance.
