The concerning part is that he wrote: "we...must ALWAYS hold the Supreme Court!"

He will be challenged from the Left by implying that the Supreme Court is a political body. We all know that it is. However, he appropriate response from him should be: "Well..by 'we' I am referring to Americans who believe in the United States constitution as it is written. After all, that is what Republicans are supposed to stand for."

When he gets a chance to appoint another Supreme Court justice, he will be told to maintain the "balance of the court." He should dismiss such calls a pure political pabulum. After all, it is the Leftist Liberal Progressives that have historically threatened to pack the court with justices that adhere to their politics and who wish to see judicial activism at the highest levels.

1) If he really supported the 2nd Amendment he wouldn't be directing his cabinet to ban firearm accessories and would, in fact, be trying to restore the 2nd Amendment to States whose Legislature has severely infringed on it (ie: New York and California). instead he jumps on the "let's ban stuff" bandwagon. Nice support there, pumpkin-head.

2) The Supreme Court IS a political body. Each sitting President has their litmus test they use to pick their flavor of Judge. Either abortion, religion, 2nd Amendment, environment, etc... each side seeks to sway the Rule of Law by appointing a Judge who would "spin" Constitutional protections to fit their particular agenda at the time.
Many of the latest decisions by the Supreme Court have had little to do with upholding the Constitution, but rather about how to re-write the Constitution to promote their brand of Progressivism, and/or to promote their specific religion over others.
Even Heller, touted as one of the best pro-2nd decisions made, has its nod toward government overreach by stating that the .gov can restrict as it feels is needed for "public safety", even though the actual words of the Amendment are "shall not be infringed" and one of the Founding Fathers even wrote that those words were put there specifically to prevent the .gov from doing what it is doing.
