Trump: Administration will look 'very strongly' at welfare reform
President Trump said Monday his administration will look "very strongly" at reforming the welfare system and plans to make the issue a priority during his presidency.

"One thing we're going to be looking at very strongly is welfare reform. That's becoming a very, very big subject and people are taking advantage of the system and then other people aren't receiving what they really need to live, and we think it's very unfair to them," Trump told reporters before a meeting with his Cabinet. "But some people are really taking advantage of our system from that standpoint, and we are really going to be looking very, very strongly therefore at welfare reform."

The president did not provide details on what, specifically, he would do to reform the welfare system, but said the efforts were part of his priority to cut government spending.

The president's commitment to welfare reform comes as Republicans on Capitol Hill are already working to overhaul the healthcare system, draft legislation reforming the tax code, and pass a bill addressing 'Dreamers,' the name given to those who were brought to the U.S. illegally as children and are protected from deportation under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.

This is one of the reasons I could never be the President of these United States.

My type of Welfare Reform is to end ALL of it. I would give fair notice of 90 days to all that are on the American teat. I would inform all that it is over. Done forever.

This is all forms of Government Welfare. Individual, corporate, farming; ALL welfare would end.

While we are on this reform, the tax code would be fixed very quickly as well. Not Federal tax credits for all the bullshit out there. It would begin with All tax exempt status'.

Apparently the reason most on this forum would never be President, or a politician in general, is that they cannot speak like a five year old.

Seriously, though, there are different forms of "welfare". Helping people who are in a bad spot is just humane. But those people need to demonstrate they are attempting to better their situation, and this help is limited in duration.
Additionally, anyone who is ON this help, and then creates a child, will immediately lose both the help, AND the child. By accepting the help you are admitting you are incapable of taking care of yourself. Bringing a child into it is abuse. (no more increased payments for these two-legged baby factories!)

And, yes, all automatic tax exempt statuses will end. There will be provisions for charitable giving, but you have to prove that you gave, and NOT to a charity you own/run.
And if you didn't make money, you don't automatically get money back from the tax system! It is fraud to receive a tax return if you haven't paid into the system.

The welfare system definitely needs some fixing. Enough of this career welfare crap. I am tired of working overtime to support these lazy bastards. If you can walk on your own without any help from someone else or any other devise, get off your ass and work.

Whats really annoying is driving past any low income housing building and seeing all the BMW's, Cadillac's and Mercedes's parked in the parking lot. These people are supposed to be on government assistance for food and rent but yet the parking lot looks like it's right out of a middle to upper class townhouse development. But then again I forgot, its called buying votes.
