I'm all for cleaning out the graft in all levels of government. You can pick your nose and get more substance than picking percentages out of thin air. Get rid of the corruption and the trillions thrown at social engineering and we could cut taxes by 90%(nose picking!) and still increase defense spending by 60% ( real booger there) !

Gorsuch is weak on 4th Amendment protections, that's his biggest fault IMO and what concerns me most, but he's an Originalist and doesn't think crayon is an appropriate way to amend the Constitution. I think we both know what kind of Judge would have been appointed if Billary had won, you could kiss your ass goodbye as it relates to the individual right to a firearm, but rest assured that same Judge would readily find constitutional basis for a3rd trimester abortions on the Lunar surface and all satellites beyond our solar system.

I would rather have the government continue to fund the arts and NPR than big agriculture. Growing grain for fuel. We waste much more money on those subsidies than the arts. I don't need to agree with the political commentary to be able to enjoy some of the other programming. I will say when there is actual political debate or an interview with a republican on NPR, it's generally conducted in a respectful fashion.

While I agree with all the suggested cuts, might I add: cut fucking WELFARE!!!!! That's a huge one!
No one wants to go after the sacred cow. They want to go after social security, and medicare (both of which working people paid for). I'm tired of hearing how it is the "Baby Boomers" fault that SS, and Medicare are going broke. WE worked and paid into it, just as we were supposed to do. The problem became when some fucking geniuses saw all that money sitting there, and decided to "rape" the fund. They decided to start paying lazy fucks who never worked a day in their life with these funds. NOW that we baby boomers are ready to retire, it's become our fault that we are drawing "OUR" money. Let me put it to you this way... I worked 43 years of my life, and paid in for every one of them. It's my fucking money, and I deserve it.

Gorsuch was an awesome choice, not just for the 2A, bit for the majority of our Founding Documents. He will make a great justice.
So far, Mr. Trump has done nothing to cause me to lose faith in him. Nothing at all. He is doing exactly what he said he was going to do. If he did not one more thing, he would go down in my book as a successful president. As Guy stated, he has done so very much already.
As for the Military spending; I spent 25 years in the Army, I saw nearly everyday the massive waste in spending. We could actually cut the overall military by a large percentage and loose nothing in regards to the fighting force. The waste is beyond massive. I would like to see a 20% in every single agency in our Government. I would like to see all funding to groups like those mentioned in the OP to cease as soon as possible. I do not care about PBS, the Arts or the other crap that they spend my money on. If people want PBS, let them donate from their own bank accounts! If not, let them disappear like a fart in the wind.
This is why yourself, TS, and I, were in agreement @ the other place.
I sympathize but imagine how much more effective charity would be if the funds didn't have to go through the Feds and multiple grafting organizations.
We used to have Community Chests and other locally controlled charities so that we actually knew who was deserving of more help or less. I want those guys to get more and the bums to get less.

To be safe, you need more than the top of the heap, you need to so outclass everyone else that they know its foolish to try anything.

World politics is a prison yard. Its not enough to be the biggest guy, some guy will always want to challenge the biggest guy. You need to be so much bigger that even the idea of even challenging you is terrifying.
If the world UFC champion went to prison, people would pick fights with him all the time (and lose badly). If you really want to avoid fights, you've got to be the incredible hulk, a 12' tall 1000lb green monster in world of normal humans.
We spend more money on keeping Banana Republic dictators flush with whores and military equipment than we do on the arts. One can always turn the radio off if the program gets politically offensive. I've done it. I believe it's important for our nation to support the arts even when most of the folks running the programs don't necessarily support conservative politics. The US should support culture. Music, dance, art, etc.

I am hoping trump gets to replace 3 liberal (includes Kennedy) justices in his term as president. That would leave the two Obama appointees and flip flop Roberts to contend with.
