Trump creates 1776 education commission

Trump's counter to the 1619 project. Basically it looks like he's trying to counter the divisive racial education being promoted in schools.

I did take a few classes geared towards graduate school at some point and going into teaching social studies. I witnessed first hand how they tried to push this very racial narrative to prospective teachers years ago. It was one of the reasons I decided against that path in life, and I'm so glad I didn't go that way.

The president has attacked lessons that emphasize the role of slavery in American history and Black Americans' contributions to the U.S.

“This radicalized view of American history lacks perspective, obscures virtues, twists motives, ignores or distorts facts, and magnifies flaws, resulting in the truth being concealed and history disfigured,” the order states. “Failing to identify, challenge, and correct this distorted perspective could fray and ultimately erase the bonds that knit our country and culture together.”

Glad this is happening. I remember in high school (and I had fairly moderate to conservative social studies teachers for the most part) there was so much time spent on slavery and civil rights I kept thinking, "Man, if I didn't watch the History Channel (mind you this was when the History Channel actually had real history on it and not just Ancient Aliens and Curse of Oak Island) I'd think America was nothing but a giant, awful, racist country." We're seeing the seeds of that germinate now with all the social justice warrior wokesters who believe in systemic racism, 50 genders, and all the intersectionality bullshit.

I also remember having to read, in high school, A People's History of the United States. They taught it as a text book when the author himself basically said he cherry picked facts to push an agenda, which he admitted was to glorify communism.

I've been thinking about this a lot and while Trump may be able to pull off another win this go around, the long-term trend is to have more Kamala Harris and AOCs and less Donald Trumps and Ted Cruz's in politics. We lost the political war when we lost the culture war and we lost the culture war when conservatives ceded control of education at all levels to the leftists.

Best thing you can do for your kids is home school them. Hire subject matter experts to teach them about specific topics if need be, or educate yourself enough to help them. Know what is going into their heads.
