I would absolutely vote for him in a heartbeat.

But.....

He's not my first choice. It would be 4 more years of total gridlock and very little will get accomplished. I was disappointed by trump's inability to not purge all the career political hacks and swamp creatures that were holdovers. This single flaw of having way too many "never trumpers" in his cabinet was his single biggest undoing. On the surface DeSantis seems to have a good message and has done right by Florida but he hasn't been tested against the political machine aka the globalists like Trump was and is. Over many decades of my life republicans time and time again turn out not whom they appear to be. Just look at the flock that ran to Trump after the 2016 election. All appeared to support Trump but turned out to be nothing but Washington swamp insiders leaking mis-information to the media in efforts to ruin his term. If you mean "less selection ability" in regards to the democratic party's super delegate system then that is correct. If the republican party had such a system then Trump wouldn't have gotten close. Hillary would be in her second term now.

As for Sanders, I was dissapointed in him. I don't like his politics and he turned out to be an empty suit anyway. He could have challenged Clinton at the convention and didn't. He did what he was told.

DeSantis hasn't faced the global onslaught that Trump has and is still going through.

We, meaning anti socialists, progressives and communists, aren't in a strong united position as we might think. DeSantis and Trump could (likely will) tear the party apart next year.
