While tariffs are bad, if they can lead to new trade deals where there are no tariffs, then there is a good chance that the quality of life for people in both the US as well as all trade partners who agree to it, will benefit. International trade provides a great safety net and check on the market by allowing for free market competition where there would otherwise be none in virtually every location. A local production will always have an advantage on both the logistic and BOM + production side of things, but if the local production engages in malicious practices, the presence of more alternatives will ensure that such corruption cannot be sustained by a monopoly.
The only issue is that Trump will have the most difficulty with China, as that is a country where the ruling class has less of a reason to care about the quality of life of the people they are ruling over, this means that tariffs have less of an impact since it is not directly impacting their ruling class.
Finally we have a president that is acting in the interests of the USA, instead of the globalists. That’s why the establishment types all hate him, their cushy little racket is being exposed for the fraud that it is.
