State law enforcement is prohibited by federal law from interfering with congressmen (and presumably POTUS) from travel to DC to do their jobs, for any reason.
So, I think they would have to let him go, or he could legitimately order the federal marshalls to start arresting state officials.

Dept of Correction in NYC can release anybody sentenced to a year or less any time they want. They did it as a matter of policy back in the 80's when they had overpopulation issues. Anybody sentenced to a year or less was released as soon as they were logged in. Having to house Trump and his entourage of Secret Service would be a severe inconvenience for them, they just may cut him loose on day one.

My prediction is a 2 or 3 year sentence, suspended, but with a host of conditions (gag orders, etc). That way, when DJT breaks those conditions the judge can claim he jailed himself. Failing that, I don't think the left is committed enough to jail DJT outright. Assassination remains a distinct possibility, likely by green-lighting an Iranian team our taxpayer $$$ funded.
