I really hope he isn't serious. It was one of the strongest points he made while campaigning. Also, he would be the last appointed Republican president before the next national internal squabble.

I was wrong about Trump being elected but I'm pretty sure I was emphatic that millions of illegals would never be deported. It was never, ever going to happen. It never will happen. This wasn't a promise he could ever have kept. Realistically nobody is going to deport kids or young adults who were brought here as kids.

So I see it as a done deal anyway. Thus if it's a usable bargaining chip he may as well use it.

This is also why it's so critical to limit illegal immigration because mass deportations are inconceivable.

The only resolution that I have heard that could be something is Trump gives the amnesty but none of them get the right to vote.

The only problem with that is it goes to SCOTUS and they get the right to vote anyway.

But I understand any number of random federal judges can just come in and block it, and that's why he hasn't done this yet.

If the republicans managed to get 7 (?) dem senators to turn and hit 60 votes or they pulled enough house dems over, it would be a spectacular coup. I'd be okay him doing damn near anything, sweetening the pot with anything at all, to undermine pelosi and get enough of a revolt for that.

Course the risk is the dems are probably trying the same.

Change the immigrants minds about which side to support.
The Mexican and South American people have been duped by the liberal left.
These people are sold on the idea of "come over the border, we will take care of you."
That attracts the worse people from those countries.
As many of you know, the Latino people are very proud. Most Mexicans for instance are more than happy to work to support their families. They are very family oriented, they believe men should protect and respect women and they are largely christian.
Does that sound like the liberal left? No
The immigrants are coming either way....either sneaking over the border, or coming legally.
The Democrats are very busy trying to get the lazy, uneducated and easily indoctrinated immigrants here.

How about a different plan on our side.
Encourage lower middle class professional people to come here.
People who really want a better life with a less corrupt government, a BOR and a "decent" social services when needed.
People in that group are afraid to even try to come here. The criminal element in their countries have soured many American people towards immigration.
Like much of the world, Latin America is starting to see the merits of a more free civilization and leaning away from far left liberalism.
Letting them know that they can come here, build a life and be free to live as they see fit and support and protect their families, just may open their eyes to voting conservative/Libertarian/Republican.
Alot of Latin Americans are very conservative in their beliefs but corrupt governments silence them.
Wouldnt this plan screw with the dems?

We need to do all possible to limit future damage .

I think trump is looking at it pragmaticly and realistically. He is willing to take a step back to take two forward.

Reality is it started in the 60s with the Hart-Celler Act, which changed were immigrants came from. Universities were only a piece of the puzzle. Consolidation of media power was another big piece.

The difference is that all around the world people are realizing how bad liberal policies are. Britain, France, Italy, Brazil, even Germany are starting to realize liberal immigration is dangerous and their Socialist policies do not work.
I know its an uphill battle and I really dont care anymore. I dont watch ANY news and literally havent seen Trumps face in 4 months. Everytime I hear anything political, I ignore it. The only news I hear about is on this site.

The Proud Boys are turning away new members because there are so many wanting to join that they cannot keep up with the vetting needed to assure they dont attract the wrong members.
