This one won't have a "sunset". Sadly despite gunsales being at record highs the number of gun owners had been on a downward trend for years. We are a shrinking demographic, fewer people means less money and fewer votes. The GOP is no longer reliant on the votes of single issue gun owners and if the manufactured stigma around guns continues it will only get worse.

Personally this is why I see representative republics as an absolute failure. Campaign on one thing, do another while in office. But that's just me, absolutely no stake in either side. All a charade.

Well it was a good year while it lasted. If we make it to 2020 without some kind of AWB I will be amazed. You can bet your ass Trump will not be winning in 2020 either. He is officially done!!!!.

It's also the truth Hillary would probably have won, but to say definitively that she would have been worse for the 2A? Simply not provable. Same was said about Obama.

how could anyone ever trust Trump? He said he wanted a full assault weapons ban in the 90s and also said he was a democrat.His words,not mine. I think by electing him we may have all been duped and are witness to the greatest hoax of all time. He may actually be harder on guns than Obummer, Pelosi and Chuckie. It is also apparent by watching him speak about firearms he knows nothing about them,case law or the 2nd amendment. Cant wait to see what he puts in his mouth today.

this is very bad for Trump, BUT......... if nothing comes of this, at least nothing major, we will all have short memories come 2020 IF......... he follows through on most of his other commitments.

however, IF..... this turns serious, AND...... he doesnt build the wall then he is in serious trouble for 2020.

She said Heller got it wrong. She definitely would stack the supreme court with more liberal judges compared to Trump even if you don't like Trumps appointment. Yes, there is no way to prove what she would have done because she lost but if I was a betting man, I would lay odds that she would have been worse. How much worse? That has yet to be seen.

darth, im not a betting person.... but come on... be honest. anyone that is remotely logical could just imagine the anti 2a crap she would be spouting off right about now.

i don't agree with what trump is saying or doing, but it could be worse. they could be talking about an outright ban right now on ALL SEMI auto rifles, nation wide 10 round mag cap limits, licenses for long guns, and all the other wish list items they have waiting.
