No Turkey hunters on here? I have not Turkey hunted in like 5 years, use to bag them every spring.
Waiting til the yahoos are done. I like to walk, stop every 50-100 yards, call softly until I get a response, then play the game. The last few years have been lean. I saw a nice strutter yesterday with two hens on my way to work. Then there are the two old boys at work, both have 10+" beards, They roost on the relay tower right in front of the gate. They get no sleep when I work, I give them a toot on the air horn, they can't help but let it go, even in the middle of the night.

Just the way I like it, they need to come find me.The more ya wait, the leaves etc grow not being able to see through woods easy.

Ha, scratching the leaves. One of my favorite tricks. You call, he answers, you call softly one more time and shut up, then start raking leaves. He knows that little hen is there and she's ignoring me and eating, huh!
That rmakes got there is why I'm probably not going this year. The more ya wait, the leaves etc grow not being able to see through woods easy.
I hunted them for 20+ years but nobody in the family likes to eat wild turkey except me.
I will again but not this year.
Never been out, but interested in learning the craft. Unfortunately, May is booked solid. So if I get out, it'll be in the fall.
