Turkish copy of the Beneli m4

So I saw the new Turkish copy of the Beneli m4. I always wanted a m4, just couldn’t bring myself to pay for one. What’s the deal with new law and semi auto shotguns? Are we supposed to have “semi auto card” or something like that for anything semi auto? I would probably order it from buds and have it shipped to my FFL guy. Thanks!

I’d double check check that. NY 265.65 and NY 265.66 only mention semi auto rifles, not shotguns.

I will stand corrected. It is for only rifles not shotguns. Dam clay and bird only shooters are off the hook.
I called Pete’s gunshop that sells mostly clay guns to clarify.

The new Law specifies "Semi-automatic Rifles" not Shotguns, and Handguns are already covered under the same Law.

Not if you go in person. In CT you would need a long gun purchasing card (or something ) or a pistol permit.

The Turks are making copies of both Gas guns and Inertia drive: I much prefer the inertia drive system that was perfected by Benelli/Beretta. Right now there are so many being imported under different names that it's hard to keep track of who has what... We've had CZ and Weatherby branded shotguns, either of which I would have no shame in ownership of.

I just happened to see this one. I haven’t done any research on it. Figured I wouldn’t waste my time if I had to have the “semi auto card” or whatever Albany is calling it.

I have a Beneli montfeltro that I love. Much cheaper than an m4. I highly recommend it. The 20 gauge is light, a dream to shoot, shoulder and swing. I can’t say enough good about it. It’s beautiful.

The new Mossberg 940pro has gotten some solid reviews and it’s USA made For just under 1k. Glad I read this thread… I was under the imprsession semi-auto shotguns got caught up in the new regs. I believe it was mentioned earlier on… they must have backed off.

I can’t see how it could be. They define pistol, rifle, shotgun legally and it says permit for semi auto rifles. I guess it’s NYS and they just do anything they want, but my understanding is no and shotguns are GTG
