We are rolling out universal income programs while McDonald's is offering $15-20/hour. We fabricate issues to argue about (transphobia, non-binary bathrooms). We remove standardized testing due to issues of equity while China pushes science. We outsource our strategic manufacturing to China to save a few dollars and they steal all our IP. They negligently release a virus (whether released from a lab or the result of their propensity to eat road kill is beside the point), covering up their involvement and we do nothing.
USA hit its zenith a couple of decades ago. We are fat, both figuratively and literally, glutted on our riches and dozing on the recliner.

Fair enough assessment...
From what I've been reading, the ChiComs have out-paced the fUSA .MIL in every field - gray zone warfare, cyber, AI, missiles, submarines, economic warfare, foreign asset acquisition, propaganda, etc., while our .MIL has been teaching critical race theory, wearing high-heels and getting outsmarted by people that fuck goats.
IMHO, China can take Taiwan whenever they please and, not only can't the fUSA do anything about it, it won't happen anyway because our government is owned by the CCP.

If our government will not do right by us, then we must do right by us and make the right choices. Eventually, by doing for ourselves, the government will exert less and less control over us -- and we will begin to wonder exactly what function it serves, much like the appendix to the human body.
That is the path we must take. Ignoring the bullshit and pushing forward ourselves.
