Two teen boys shot while walking on Syracuse's North Side

Two teenage boys were shot Wednesday afternoon while they were walking on Syracuse's North Side.

The teens -- ages 16 and 17 -- were walking together in the 1400 block of North Salina Street just after 12:30 p.m. when they were shot, said Sgt. Richard Helterline, a Syracuse Police Department spokesman. Both were shot in the abdomen, he said.
