Uberti Schofield 45 or Ruger 1911 45ACP

Big fan of cowboy guns. Never shot one. Curious. Love the look of the Ruger. Which to choose?

I can only tell you I love my commander sized ruger sr1911.

Seems like you could get the Ruger for cheaper.. but assuming that's not an object, personally I'd get the Uberti. I would think they'd be more scarce and 'collectable'.. Maybe more fun to shoot too? Caveat: I own a Ruger SR1911 and love it. (it's the only 1911 I own so far)

If you want a collectable 1911, think no further than a left handed Randall. Those are already going up in value quickly and will keep going.

Smart choice right there. I have a Uberti, 1873, Cattleman in 45lc, as well as a Ruger SR1911CMD. Definitely 2 different animals, but both should be in your safe.
The Uberti just beckons ya' back to the old Spaghetti Westerns, The Ruger brings ya' back to a totally different nostalgia era! At least they do for me.

Also, in the Uberti, 45lc, you can also shoot the 45 schofield, as well as the shorter 45 cowboy special.

I just looked up the Randall out of curiosity and wow as a righty that looks so foreign. It's probably heaven for a lefty though.

The two guns that you are deciding between couldn't be more polar opposites, lol! IMO, neither one is in the collectible category so I would not base my decision on that. I tend to agree with most that the 1911 is the more "enjoyable" way to go and the ammo is less expensive, unless you reload. There are a lot of great choices these days in the under $1000.00 1911 category so, you have a lot of options!
