So it’s been 9 weeks since I submitted my application. Just got a letter today for my interview. It’s with judge gilpatric. Anyone have experience with him? Also what kind of questions will he ask? Should I wear full suit or just pants with shirt and tie? Really hoping for full carry

Gilpatrick did mine about 9 years ago. The interview took all of 2 minutes. We talked about the bar down the road from my house. He doesn't do unrestricted ar first.
For me, he gave me target/hiking and told me to come back after a year and he'd remove them.

I would wear khaki dockers, and a polo shirt or dress shirt with no tie . I think a suit and a tie is overkill.
Hoping maybe he has changed in the past 9 years. Oh well restricted is better than nothing I guess. Did you wear a suit or just khakis and a dress suit?

Gilpatrick is a great guy. I had my interview with him when I lived in Ulster County. Gave me full carry right off the bat.
I went in a full suit. After entering the doorway to his office I paused and waited for him to incite me all the way in. I sat only after he told me to sit. I spoke only when asked.
He is a really good judge. He had ups and downs in his career and understands that people do as well. When he asks you why you are doing this stick to what you put in your letter in the permit application. Do not add or omit anything. As long as you are polite, well spoken and well mannered you will do fine. Use "Your Honor" while talking to him. He likes it when people respect the court.

Yeah. He approved my “permission to sell pistols” in NY. It is just more bs for NY. Basically a pistol permit application.
We sat around talking about this and that for 3-5 min and i was free to go. Everything in hand. Papers signed etc etc.
Thanks. He seemed like a great guy. Asked why I wanted it and stuck to my letter. He asked if I had a safe and if I will keep it locked up. Then just some regular talk and it was over
If I go out a deposit on my gun when do I bring the receipt to the sheriff? Once they tell me it’s in?
