On July 4, 2019 at approximately 8:30 p.m., New York State Police at Endwell arrested Joseph M. Newfrock, age 21 of Union, NY for the felonies of Criminal Possession of a Firearm and the misdemeanors of Criminal Obstruction of Breathing, Criminal Mischief in the fourth degree, Assault in the third degree and Menacing in the second degree. He was also charged with the misdemeanor of Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs.
A trooper was dispatched to a domestic dispute at a residence on Columbia Drive in the town of Union. A victim told the trooper that after an argument over taking the victim’s car, Newfrock threatened the victim with an unregistered gun, struck the victim with the butt of the gun and choked the victim before getting into the victim’s vehicle and leaving the area.
