Unsafe Act, friends lost

I simply don't care. People come into and go out of my life all the time, and for various reasons. While I have many acquaintances, the title of "friend" is reserved for precious few. Those people whom I consider to be friends would do battle for me, just as I would for them. While we are generally like-minded, we don't always agree, and we have a great deal of respect and adoration for each other.

A true friendship transcends squabbles over politics.

You get old and the herd thins, but I do have one out of state, and one my age and still in law enforcement, both gun guys. A Fudd (doesn't vote) acquaintance I was talking with just before last hunting season said "something has to be done about these assault rifles", I harangued his pretty good, but it was like pissing in the ocean with hopes to turn back the tide. I don't talk to him much anymore.

All my friends are pro gun..... my brother in law and his wife are lefties. More her than him. Funny thing is, after trump won, they were looking into getting guns. Idk if he can because he was in prison.

No I was referencing to I hunted with AR's, Once the Safe Act came I had friend telling me he agreed with it and my AR's were not needed for hunting or anything other than people killing and it was cheating hunting with them. etc...

Ask your 'friend' what he uses to hunt. Seems he's likely to say a bolt action. Tell him that's cheating compared to black powder. No need for bolt action.

As the train of thought continues for the FUDD tell him there's no need for black powder over bow and arrow, as that's cheating.

No need no need for bow and arrow over spear as that's cheating.

Bottom line, based on your friends philosophy anything that offers an advantage over the animal is cheating. Therefore if your friend is using anything more than hand to paw or hand to hoof combat, he's cheating.

My cousin is like you but with my AR's. He loves them, wants one, thinks it's the coolest thing going, but makes fun of me incessantly when I hunt with them. He thinks semi-'s are cheating in hunting. He's a Mr. One Shot One Kill-type hunter.

Basically he says they are for killing people and everyone should have one for people who need to be killed, just not deer. Lol

I can't stand these fuckin people that say you "can't hunt with an AR". It's up the the SPORTSMAN on how many shots they fire. Just because I can pull the trigger three times a second doesn't mean I will. Love sitting in the woods during deer season hearing shotguns get emptied in 5 seconds. How is that any different? If you're worth a shit, you make your first shot count. If you're lucky enough, you get one more tops. There should be no 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, or 7th. shot. A bullet is the same whether it comes out of a bolt action or a semi auto. Be a responsible sportsman and not a Black Ops commando.

where is your cousin .. i'm sure we can hook him up for a hunt .. have him bring his bolt or muzzle loader to a yote hunt or a hog hunt .. its easy to shoot duck and geese or deer with one shot they don't attack .. .. lets go hunting when we the shooter is the bait ..

is my old rem 22lr bolt single shot ( no mag on this old gun ) only good for rabbits and tree rats .. .. and my 10/22 10 shot semi not ?? ..

I have a video of him hunting rams with a muzzleloader. It was slightly drizzling that day. When he pulled the trigger, the cap went off and that was it. Hilarious.

I always had a ton of friends, but small group of very close friends. Now that im older and have a family i dont have much time for socializing. I keep in touch with my small group of close friends from growing up and they all have guns or at least support gun ownership. I also have friends from this forum, and some i havent met in person but would still call them friends.

I do work with some people who are liberals, and we try not to talk politics, but i wouldnt call them friends.

Being a college student in New York who's pro 2nd no holds is interesting though, because if i disqualified people who didn't agree with some of my most important views I wouldn't talk to a damn person all day. Saying that, I do have some of your stereotypical leftists as friends and we avoid politics for the most part but I do try and inform them as best I can. They just seem generally uninterested in it. Luckily most of my family basically agrees with some of my stances, if not just for the more extreme ones for a non gun person to hear.

As for hunters, no, not really.

I do not consider many people to be friends. That is a pretty big word for me to use. I do not hang with people that do not support our Rights. They do not need to be Pro gun; but they need to respect my Constitution. If they do not, they are not in my circle, period!

Very well said. Strange .... some people here I am more comfortable with than those I actually know. At least here I know who the patriots are. Some hunters I see on a regular basis don't believe the 2A stands for freedom and the protection of the first. I don't trust them much at all.

Most of the gun owners I know swap guns quite often. They don't have any firearms that are restricted by the safe act but they are all pissed off about the $45.00 transfer fee that our local gun store charges.

I totally agree with the left when they say is was designed for killing. Of course it has various uses in target and hunting. The open sights ,quick change magazines ,weight, length make it an effective weapon for self defense. It also makes it an effective militia rifle. That's the point. It is a good killing machine. and people have the right to effective personal self defense. They have the right to be part of the civilian militia

I never contest the fact that the AR15 or Ak is deadly weapon. For me its a moot point. That's why people have them for self defense.
