Oh, I forgot ..One thing I do not seem to find online anywhere is the addition of ah harmonics tuning system.
This could be as simple as a spring loaded screw with a brass tip that is just a couple of inches ahead of the chamber
in the stock. One more reason for providing a very hard section perhaps inserting a hardened steel metal rod
and aluminum block and then bedding on top. this will give lot of rigidity in any weather and then a base to
put a tuning screw. IMO this is a lot better than bedding the chamber area because with heat there is expansion
and the rifle might start stringing up in long sessions of fire.
The tuning is less critical with heavier barrels where you have less vibrations but some Bench Rest users still use
it. Some might say this is not free floating but is not true. there is a contact point but it is a controlled contact.
