Saltwater60
20×102mm Vulcan
Tick tock, tick tock. Not much left since he doesn’t work weekends. Three days, but that should be plenty of time.
But more importantly.. Monday. Judge Benitez (District Court Judge in California) has set the first court date in Miller V Bonta. California AWB.
So that could be nothing more than going over some procedural house keeping, or it could be a very big day in California
. might be a wrinkle .. paper filed ..
I would like to know what areas will be affected by his decision. Would it apply to western NY (Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse and close by areas)?
IF, he grants an injunction, I wonder if it would change things like stadiums for example. It would be nice to be able to carry at Highmark Stadium during the Buffalo Wingfest on Labor Day weekend since I will be in Buffalo attending that!
I hope and pray that the bastards get theirs.. might be a wrinkle .. paper filed ..
I'm a HAM radio operator. I generally carry my small quad bander with me. I guess between the knives, the firearms, and now radios, I won't be going there. Too risky.Looks like you're out of luck..

I find it funny the put out cameras with lenses longer than 6 inches... my Nikon D500 has a 600mm that is meant for sports photography, guess I can't use that either because it would make my camera's glass way longer than 6 inches...
I know that. However, the stadium is a public facility owned by the taxpayers. It is not privately owned. Hochul’s bullshit CCIA makes it illegal to carry in stadiums. And yet BRUEN says you cannot make stadiums off limits to carrying.Looks like you're out of luck..

That’s a pretty fucked up list. Why in the hell would anyone pay to go to an event there with all of that shit restricted?Looks like you're out of luck..

My opinion? Because many are ignorant or just don't care about thier rights. That’s a pretty fucked up list. Why in the hell would anyone pay to go to an event there with all of that shit restricted?
You still won’t be able to enter with a firearm. Even though it’s a publicly owned place I’m sure the property is rented to whoever and therefore becomes a private event. They can reject your entry for anything. That’s just a guess since I’m not sure it’s a private event or not.I know that. However, the stadium is a public facility owned by the taxpayers. It is not privately owned. Hochul’s bullshit CCIA makes it illegal to carry in stadiums. And yet BRUEN says you cannot make stadiums off limits to carrying.
I’m pretty sure I am out of luck as the anti gun assholes will fight tooth and nail to prevent it. But IF Judge Suddaby issues an injunction and overturns it, seems like it would be legal for me to carry there… That, and I suppose that if I went there and they turned me away at the gates, (with an injunction in place), would turning me away give me a case to sue their asses over? Or, would they arrest me for just carrying in the parking lots outside the stadium?
They don’t want you having good pictures. They want you paying for them. Ridiculous yes.I'm a HAM radio operator. I generally carry my small quad bander with me. I guess between the knives, the firearms, and now radios, I won't be going there. Too risky.

What a shame.
I believe your stance on it being a private event is correct. You still won’t be able to enter with a firearm. Even though it’s a publicly owned place I’m sure the property is rented to whoever and therefore becomes a private event. They can reject your entry for anything. That’s just a guess since I’m not sure it’s a private event or not.
That begs me to ask this question. Is an event held by a private organization (Wingfest?) at a publicly owned facility a “private event” if it open to the public? You still won’t be able to enter with a firearm. Even though it’s a publicly owned place I’m sure the property is rented to whoever and therefore becomes a private event. They can reject your entry for anything. That’s just a guess since I’m not sure it’s a private event or not.
I am convinced that a vast majority of so called bills fans are not really fans. They just pretend to be fans as an excuse so they have a socially acceptable reason to be drunk at 11am in the morning. My opinion? Because many are ignorant or just don't care about thier rights.
Does no radios mean no cell phones?I'm a HAM radio operator. I generally carry my small quad bander with me. I guess between the knives, the firearms, and now radios, I won't be going there. Too risky.

That’s a good legal question and I don’t think it’s ever been answered or challenged that I know of. Of course, I’m not constitutional scholar. That begs me to ask this question. Is an event held by a private organization (Wingfest?) at a publicly owned facility a “private event” if it open to the public?
While I'm not a sports fan- my reasons for being drunk at 11am are my own, I don't need them to be socially acceptable.I am convinced that a vast majority of so called bills fans are not really fans. They just pretend to be fans as an excuse so they have a socially acceptable reason to be drunk at 11am in the morning.
So…, 70,000+ Bills fans is a “private event”? Events that are advertised as being open to the public? I vote that they are public events held at a facility owned by the public. That’s a good legal question and I don’t think it’s ever been answered or challenged that I know of. Of course, I’m not constitutional scholar.
however I would say yes because you need a ticket and to pay to get in. A public event you would just be able to walk into. Again this is all speculation.
I think requiring tickets does not make it a private event if the ticket purchase is open to the public. So…, 70,000+ Bills fans is a “private event”? Events that are advertised as being open to the public? I vote that they are public events held at a facility owned by the public.
Is a private business that is open to the public still a private business? ;jThat begs me to ask this question. Is an event held by a private organization (Wingfest?) at a publicly owned facility a “private event” if it open to the public?
Excuses for being drunk @ 11am:While I'm not a sports fan- my reasons for being drunk at 11am are my own, I don't need them to be socially acceptable.
That being said, the Bruen decision stated that if there was searches or metal detectors and a police presence, then it could be considered a special area? Is that the case here? I've never been there and have no intention of going so I don't know the dynamics of it.
This has been my whole point about the whole "Lawful gun signs" on establishments. Is a private business that is open to the public still a private business? ;j
I think this is falling under the definition of what is a “public accommodation“. And stadiums fall under that. Also, such facilities are subject to the Civil Rights Act of 1964.Is a private business that is open to the public still a private business? ;j
Good points, to be sure. If football stadiums and NASCAR races can qualify for a TFR from the FAA, I think it’s safe to say that the NFL can impose rules for attendees at games, regardless of who owns the stadium.I think this is falling under the definition of what is a “public accommodation“. And stadiums fall under that. Also, such facilities are subject to the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
I’m damn curious to see what the Judge’s decision will be.
Yes.Is a private business that is open to the public still a private business? ;j
