Well considering my new pistol hasn't come in yet, my desire for something new gun related hasn't been satisfied yet. Although an AR build sounds appealing, the smart thing to tackle would be my EDC.
My current EDC consists of a bone stock G43 with the pinky extension magazine. I carry it in an Alien Gear holster, with one of their belts. I've been carrying this setup for a little over a year now. This has been my first and only carry setup. So now I know somethings I like and dislike. I also find myself wondering if there's anything I'm missing out on. So I'm thinking about changing a few things up.
First thing is the holster. I have to admit I never thought I would say this, but I am considering appendix carry. I'm not sure if my body structure and usual clothing will allow it. I'm 5'-10" and 220 lbs, I would classify myself as a stocky build. I have a gut, rough guess maybe an inch of fat over my abs. The people who carry in this fashion is it possible for my body type? Also I really like this holster anyone have input on it?The ''Wingman'' Appendix Rig
The next item I'm thinking about up grading is the magazines. Although the pinky extension seems to work fine I see a lot of people using these.Base Pad for Glock 43 I'm thinking the +2 would be the ones I would grab. Is there better ones out there or are these a waist of time in general.
Next up is the sights. I have yet to upgrade the sights, the reason being is I'm rarely out at night. I'm sure this will change as my kids get older. So I'm open to suggestions on night sights and a universal sight changing tool.
Lastly is maybe adding a weapon light or light/laser combo. Again I'm not out after dark much and don't EDC a flash light and usually relay on my cell phone for light. The people that use a weapon mounted light for their EDC, is it worth it?
Any input is welcome or if there's something I missed please let me know. I might also add one of the USMC slide covers. But that will only happen if order something else for a place that sells them.
