Upgrading permit

Hey folks,

I know Im looking for a unicorn here but figured I would throw it out there. Any one have a success story of someone upgrading their Westchester County permit to full carry? I went for it a few years ago and got laughed at 8 months later but was thinking of giving another shot. I am concerned that if I get denied again they might drop my restriction from sportsman to target since sportsman is no longer an option (our left wing county exec removed it). I have taken more training and gotten another 2 out of state permits so things have changed a touch.

I've heard of one person on this forum that did, forget who it was. That's the only one I've ever heard get upgraded in Westchester. Lots of people with lots of training, and certificates get denied.

I know 2 people that own their own business that managed to get a Full Carry. They requested Full Carry a year or more after their initial permit. I think it depends which judge reviews the request. I suspect you need a good reason. I would include any training.

That's messed up. I didn't realize it was that bad. I had to wait 12 months for my initial application process in erie but got unrestricted right away. Erie's process sucks but they're pretty good about giving unrestricted



It should be an absolute crime you guys have it so bad. And to think of all the hoops you have to go through to end up getting denied a 2nd amendment right, yet at the same time the left says it's too much of a burden to show legal ID to vote.

At this point can't you raise hell and complain, threaten litigation? I mean, really what do you have to lose at this point? A right that is going to be denied anyway??


This country can't have a reset fast enough.

Ive tried several times, and always get a letter saying I have not demonstrated good cause. I have attended numerous training classes, have my NRA pistol instructor and Range safety officer certs and still denied. Especially now with Latimer the politics are even worse.

May not be a good idea fro all, but how about becoming a part time Law enforcement officer?

I know others that have gone down this route.
