upper build question - gas block

Hey all. I'm putting together an upper project. Its a left side charger with a heavy barrel that I want to be a straight pull....ie NOT semi auto(because I want to before anyone asks why). The barrel measures .875"(22.2mm) Is there a way to block the gas port on the barrel or is it best to just install a gas block backwards or off center?

Can you get a barrel without gas port drilled?

Perhaps...I bought the barrel already. I have started the assembly, and the gas port is the last thing I need to do before I can put the handguard on, and its basically done minus an optic.

Ideally I would get a barrel without the hole, but since you already have one, I would use a clamp on gas block and put it forward of where it should be by the length slightly bigger then the diameter of the gas hole inside the block.

Turn the gas block around backwards.

Green mountain barrels makes chambered blanks for ARs that the user can contour and drill the gas port. I use them for my straight pull bolt ARs.

save the gas block for the next gun .. build a semi and get the Kali Key ..
