Could be. The boomers I have had discussions with have generally understood the difference between a Right and a Privilege. It's possible that they understand that difference and just want to see who calls them out for it and who doesn't. I will wait for their response. Seems like an easy discussion as there isn't much room for their argument.

Training is the best thing any gun owner can do, but it should not be forced on a private citizen.
Its not about making people safer, its about controlling the citizenry. How many shootings by law abiding gun owners end with someone innocent being killed or injured? I bet the number is miniscule compared to the estimated 2,000,000 defensive gun uses annually.

So, let's see. If it came to that and NYS had to pay for our training, and other incurred costs, would they then pay for my time off of work; my round trip airfare back to NY from South Carolina; my hotel costs for having to stay overnight due to the length of the training; my rental car; and my per diem expenses?
If so, count me in!

Yep, I am still in the Charlotte, NC area, but literally just across the border in Ft. Mill, SC, which is due west of Charlotte (Mecklenburg County). In fact, if I turn left out of my neighborhood and go 100 yards, I am in the city of Charlotte.
There are also a number of benefits to living here, - like no state tax on SS income; homestead tax exemptions for veterans and those over 65; no fees for your CCW here; no car inspections annually; even lower property and income taxes than NC,... and a little personal favorite I just discovered: you can wear ANY "religious" headgear for your drivers license picture that you desire. (Think of the Headgear for the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, or even the Official headgear of Fred Flinstone's Water Buffalo Lodge.) And they use the same picture on your CCW permit (referred to as a CHP here!)
Life is good here in the Carolina's! I'm having fun!

Just got an answer from Rockland County Pistol Clerk. Now that the “guidance” has been issued from Gov Karen and her private police, our county judges finally see the light and they have allowed the clerks to begin sending out the amended pistol licenses… bout fucking time some of this is working out in a positive direction.
