Of course they say they are low paid crappy jobs but all I can say is driving around today I saw three signs for production mechanics and machinists. Now I drive by these companies weekly for the last 20 years or more and I’ve never seen them advertise for jobs. They are small to medium sized shops in my area. I just find this odd.

The stupid news had a story on this on Thursday and they had resort town managers saying people just don’t want to work because of government money and handouts. Stupid news anchor says oh I don’t believe that, if a jobs available they would take it out of fear of losing that job to some one else. I’m not sure if these morons believe this or not.

If this free money because Covid crap ever stops, I will not hire someone that has an extended employment gap from that period. There are jobs, companies just can't fill them. Everyone I speak to in any industry is experiencing the same thing. I deal with a production machine shop in TN that is offering sign-on/relocation $ for operators with basic experience - still can't find anyone. Every contractor I use is booked solid and can't catch up. I have employee's that were hired months ago, showed up a couple days, and have been abusing every way to stay home since. Between labor laws, company policies, and free everything for doing nothing, my suggestion would be, if you have a good employee, take good care of them, because there aren't many available.

The Government gave a blank check to stay at home and make more than working. It used to be unemployment ceased when a suitable job or being called back was refused.It used to be unemployment paid a portion of a weekly paycheck. Welfare had a time limit. Now a person can opt out by using the "covd" rule. Just like welfare..why work when a person can do better at home.

There are a lot of jobs that can't be sent to China(roofing, painting, dishwasher, etc). With some exceptions, the only people I see doing those jobs are presumably illegals. If Americans can't find the job they want, and refuse the ones that are available, let them starve. If I lost my job right this minute, I would be waiting tables before todays lunch service, and probably be trusted with more responsibilities before my first paycheck.

The present situation should make things quite clear. True Americans, those whom are willing and wanting to work hard to support themselves and advance are now a minority. Lost is the work ethic that was so common to even the young boy delivering newspapers or kids carrying packages from the local market to people's apartments for a quarter (yeah, I'm old...). We're in big trouble... Most young people want to sit in front of a computer terminal for a job. No one wanting to learn a trade, yep we're in big trouble.

There are still a few young people today that have that good work ethic but not many.

I blame stoOpid America, not just the young work force. Plenty of dumb fucks of all ages too ya know! Nobody willing to make sacrifices in their lifestyles when needed. Everything needs to be on demand and now. We've been losing a minimum of 500,000 to 1,000,000 jobs per week for over a year. Some people finally realizing borrowing and financing everything equated into their net worth, and not factoring in personal debt isn't a good thing. It is a good wake up call though.

Burned out savings, car payments still due, and rent or a mortgage to pay. It's okay though, they deserve that $7 latte in the mourning and that new $2000 iphone they too literally finance like a complete fucking moron. Many making off well with unemployment bonuses and benefits, for the time being of course. And just what was wrong with the fashion? And how would it differ from the trash we see today (think spandex on EVERYONE).

Just coming out of the "free love" movement, people (especially women) were starting to realize they didn't need to wear the puritannical constrictive clothing, and were starting to be more risque in their apparel. Styles had bright colors, and were cut to accent the human form, not conceal it.

Maybe I'm just old, but I happen to like the fashion of the 70s and 80s.
