Absolutely redone, and that's fine...But $1499 is almost double what they're bringing on GBroker. Check the recent completed auctions going back. You'll be hard pressed to find one that sold for over $900, unless it's a real Sporter or NM, etc. Many nice examples went off on the 700-800 range.

Most if not all of those in the $700-$800 range are surplus rifles from Greece that came back to the USA several years ago. They are WELL worn and are only good for shooters and have NO collectible value. Refinished 03's are worth a little more, but only as shooters. Actual collectible 03's are getting much more $$$.

The CMP always has stacks of 03A3's. I think I paid like $250 or so for my Smith Corona 03A3 (give or take). Here's my 03 third from the top. My plan at some point is to take the weapon apart, and clean the wood furniture with a tooth brush and oven cleaner, then use Olde English lemon oil to hydrate the wood.

Dunno. a 10 Second search found this rifle. All original 1917 rifle for $799. Seems to be the norm rather than the exception.
