Utah permit renewal

My Utah permit is up for renewal in a few months. Does anyone know if a I will receive a notice in the mail or do I need to take the initiative and get it done.

Can anyone advise what I need to do?

Yes you will receive a renewal notice in the mail, but as @Calculon said you can just go on line to the site and do it. All the necessary instructions are there.

Yes, you will get a notice. You do not have to do fingerprints again, but you will need to do photos. You can complete the renewal online, to include uploading a new photo. Renewal can be done up to 90 days prior to your current expiration date and costs $25 for non Utah residents. If you renew online, they'll charge you a $.75 convenience fee.

Realistically, it's only 20 cents more, as the price of a stamp to mail your paperwork to Utah is now 55 cents.

NOTE: You will need to upload a RECENT pic for the permit (something I wasn't expecting) renewal process. so have someone take a pic for you so it's ready. Very easy process, and I had my replacement within a week.

Check the photo requirement it’s a bit specific on size and background. Don’t think you can smile.

You can always have a passport photo taken at CVS for a couple bucks and scan it.

I received my Utah renewal notice this past weekend. Unbelievably easy to do online. They just wanted a copy of my current CCW license which I scanned on my scan/copy machine and the passport photo. I downloaded some free passport photo app on to my iPhone and took a selfie. I uploaded both pictures and filled out a short questionnaire online. Took me all of about five minutes. Also a credit card payment for $20.75.

Utah BCI website has loads of info (not just for renewal). Also, they take phone calls and will answer most any question. They are used to it!
