Utica residents air concerns over indoor shooting range

I’ll never understand the public fear over indoor ranges. I’ve never been to one but I imagine that there are standards in design to keep rounds from exiting the building, mitigate noise to the outside, air handling, etc. It’s not like they put a whorehouse in your neighborhood. In fact I would think that the zoning would prevent putting a business in a non commercial zone. I’m also confident that most if not all the clientele would be respectful of others. I just don’t get the hubub over it.

Oneida County I heard forces their residents to choose between 1 of the 2 only "certified" instructors for live fire training to get "unrestricted". Along with paying a $10 document fee. Then a $200 fee to the instructor to do the live fire. Which has stringent rules and a score card. Which FTW, I heard the Honorable Dwyer and Mr. Sullivan keep counts on how many of those unrestricted applications go out to people and who gets them.
I'll go out as far as saying that those 2 "certified" instructors pick and choose not by how good you are, but by "other" reasons, some of which I'm sure you can guesstimate.

We really need to have the NYSRPA SCOTUS decision go in our favor to help stop this nonsense.

so if the residents of Utica have concerns ..
Then ..
do not go to the indoor gun range .. stay home and locate to your basement ..
ohhh the days of yesteryear .. kids shooting guns in the schools gym and competing and learning gun safety ..
Sounds like Utica gun owners need to step up and get the kids into shooting and really mess with the Kerens and Kens ..
high school trap n skeet teams .. .. its slowly coming back ..

As a responsible gun owner shooting at any range, be it indoor or outdoor, safety is no joke.
Practicing safe gun handling and shooting is fundamental.
You have no idea how many times someone has handed me a gun that had a cartridge chambered and the surprised look on their face when out pops a live round.

Ahhhh Utica NY. A bastion of traditional values at the heart of MAGA Country.
It stems from them being conditioned to fear anyone owning a gun. Having an indoor range nearby means they must face their irrational fears every day.
Most are not capable of handling that, so seek to ban it.

That Chief makes it sound like restrictions on a pistol permit.
These people love their restrictions.
How about a few plants in that city that work long hours with them driving fork lifts, heavy vehicles, and banging on steel right behind some houses? I would think that should result "in the annoyance of any nearby resident". But, oh, no that's OK.
