A member of the Michael Bloomberg-bought General Assembly is trying to undermine both Virginians’ Second Amendment rights to carry in other states as well as retropocity between other states. H.B. 569, introduced by New Jersey native Dan Helmer (HD-40), targets Right-to-Carry permit holders by curtailing Virginia’s reciprocity regime.

No state has agreed to share a 24hr a day database of concealed carry permit holders with Va potentially ending concealed carry rights for Virginians in other States as well as the Right to Carry for non Residents in VA.

I have never seen a more unhinged group of people on a single track in their governance of a state. Have they done one single good thing for the people of Virginia? I don't think so.
Commucrats anywhere and everywhere are a cancer, a spreading disease. The more people who throw their hands up and run to a red state, the more the commucrats win. Eventually they will be knocking down the door of that red state you ran to too. Just like they have in Ole' Virginia, once the heart of the Confederacy and home to a proud man by the name of Robert E. Lee, now overrun with the rats and vermin from the seat of decay and corruption, D.C. and their representative party, the commucrats.
Fleeing your homes to "friendlier" places is a band aid on a sucking chest wound. They are in the final phases of their plans, turning the children and labeling any beliefs outside what they want as criminal. Trump has bought us time and shown that we aren't alone in our resistance to the commucrats. I chose to stay in NY, and raised a very conservative daughter here, and now she will go forth into the country, a drop of antidote to the commucrat agenda. The time to run away has passed, the time to stand is here, otherwise there will shortly be nowhere to run to.

I will get off my soap box now.

My best educated guess? Make the US subservient to the UN. Our economy is too strong for them to bully us.

A major reason why a country like Australia passed the gun laws they did, is because of threatened UN sanctions on trade if they didn't. That isn't discussed much. Countries like Australia can't afford those types of sanctions.

I happen to agree with your sentiment. In my case, the poor upstate economy eventually forced my hand. I could no longer afford to live and work in NY. So, when an opportunity came up, and recruited me to move to NC and do the exact same job I was doing in NY, - and for a lot more money, I had no choice but to take it.

Me? NYS could repeal the Sullivan Act and the SAFE Act tomorrow, and I'd still leave. Why? More for less. Much less.

With regards to the original post, they are also going after, and almost certainly going to pass, a measure that destroys state preemption, giving local town and city governments the power to turn VA into another patchwork quilt of where anyone in VA will be able to Keep or Bear, whether citizens of the state or not.

By hook or by crook, they are going to turn VA into NY or California with regards to the 2A.
