I thought the constitution forbid any military from police action. Essentially, this would be a policing action brought on by the governor, would it not? so that would be illegal for the governor to do.

In 2013, a directive from the US Secretary of Defense directly addresses this issue: it prohibits the use of the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps for domestic law enforcement.

The limitation does not apply to the National Guard of the United States when activated by a state's governor and operating in accordance with Title 32 of the US Code, such as deployments by state governors in response to Hurricane Katrina.

The VA government has already said that they will scale it back to grandfather in the effected guns.
But, those guns will have to be registered with the state.

They will ultimately go the way of the Whig Party.

Governor Nothram (Red Ralph) aka (Blackface) has threatened to send VaNG to the 2A Sanctuary counties to possibly arrest local LE and any other local government officials that refuse to enforce the up and coming unconstitutional gun control laws coming out of Richmond... At this point approx 76 out of 95 VA counties have declared themselves 2A sanctuary counties. Most of them counties voted for it unaminously. Some county sheriff's have said that they will deputize any county resident that can pass a background check. Local militias will be sponsored by the local government. County residents have vowed to protect their local government officials.

From the info that I have been reading (from the Virginians) they are not fucking around.
If the Democrats in Richmond do not back off. This could very well get ugly.

You have to remember. As far as gun control laws, us NY'ers were already desensitized to an extent before Cuomo's NY UNSAFE Act was signed into law.. For an example we went from 70 mph to 100 mph overnight.
In contrast, the Virginians went from 5 mph to 100 mph overnight.

Over the decades us NY'ers have been poked in the eye, punched in the face, knocked to the ground, and hair pulled.
Then on top of that in 2013 we got kicked in the nuts... (NY UNSAFE Act) but we were desensitized over time.

Not so much with the Virginians. They just got kicked in the nuts right off the bat. And they are fighting mad about it.
IMO the Democrats in Richmond turned the pot of boiling water up way to high and way to fast and the frog now realizes what is going on and is jumping out of the pot.

I do not think that the VaNG will be very effective in a situation like this... Think about it...
From what I have been reading. There are a lot of LE in the VaNG. Now what group of people stick together
almost no matter what? .. What group of people have each others back almost no matter what?
What group of people have a very strong brotherhood? .. Yep, Law Enforcement.
With that being said. I do not see the VaNG arresting county sheriff's, sheriff's deputies, DA's and other local LE.
For upholding their oath to not only to the US constitution but the VA constitution also.

My point is that every post in this thread is saying that Governor Northam said he may call in the NG to uphold his unconstitutional weapons ban.
In fact, he did NOT say that in any way.

Im sure if he thought it would work he would use the NG.
