I used this to map out my travel down to NC on two different occasions last year.
MD and NJ, and DC are hostile territories.

Being in WNY area, when I visited NC earlier, I took I90 west to Erie, PA; I79 south thru Pittsburgh into W. VA, and into VA, and then a short jog over to I77 and down to Charlotte, NC. That route completely avoids MD, and their anti 2A revenuers.
Of course, I have NY Unrestricted; PA, and FL which covered me in those states. If you go that way, the route is beautiful, - especially from VA and points south. And no potholes from VA south either! FUAC!

If you are from Maybrook in Orange County and have already got your Pa Non Resident, a Route 84 route to 81 South gets you to Va with a 10 minute drive through Md (12.08 miles) where you you can temporarily disarm / unload / lock up for a few minutes. Because we are aware, we often notice others securing or rearming in Pa and Va just past Md borders. How do we spell National Retropocity?

True. We are looking at property there and from what I understand you need to own property in SC before they issue a non-resident permit.

Remember in VA and n.c. you must inform law enforcement if stop that you have a firearm.
